CADT is the assessment instrument developed within the House of ESI across decades of senior hospitality search. It combines clinical interview, situational analysis, behavioural observation, and competence mapping across multiple sessions with the candidate. The result is a written assessment that surfaces what the résumé cannot show and what a conventional interview alone cannot reach. Owners request CADT at the final stage of an external search, when the choice has narrowed to two or three strong candidates and depth of understanding has become the deciding factor.
The assessment focuses on three dimensions. Competence, which is the floor: what the candidate can demonstrably do, explain, and reason about under real operational conditions. Character, which is the dimension most predictive of long term success at General Manager level and above: how the candidate holds themselves under pressure, how they speak of past teams and previous owners, where they take responsibility. Trajectory, which is the fit between the candidate's evolving qualities and the specific demands of the role under consideration. The written assessment is shared with the owner, with the candidate's full knowledge and consent.
